Hi, I’m Martha. I’m a journalist and writer based in Los Angeles.

Since 2020, I have served as a staff writer for Inside Philanthropy and it’s sister publication, Blue Tent. I cover a variety of issues, including racial justice, health equity, immigration, Latino issues, agriculture, and rural America, among others.

Previously, I also served as a news intern for KCRW, a local NPR-affiliate station. There, I helped cover the COVID-19 pandemic and the U.S. elections, focusing particularly on local races.

I have B.A. in English from UCLA. I also studied journalism at Santa Monica College, where I filled various role for its student-run newspaper, The Corsair, first as a staff writer, then Managing Editor, and eventually Editor-in-Chief.

As a lifelong Angeleno, I especially enjoy writing stories about the city and its people.
